Srinagar, May 15 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) has asked the DIETs to maximise participation of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) through online NISHTHA courses via DIKSHA platform.
In this regard, JKSCERT Joint Director Central issued a communiqué to all Principals of District Institute of Education & Training (DIETs)—asking them for rerunning the NISHTHA ECCE and FLN Courses for 2024-25.
“National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 lays down the need and standards for enabling opportunities for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of school heads and teachers in order to enhance and enrich this human resource, as they are the most fundamental pillar of the education system,” it reads.
According to the official communiqué available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Joint Director has said that in order to achieve the desired target of seeking 50 hours of CPD, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is offering online NISHTHA courses on DIKSHA platform.
“Till date, NISHTHA Elementary, NISHTHA Secondary, NISHTHA FLN and NISHTHA ECCE courses have been launched across the country. To maximise the outreach and ensure the completion of courses by all teachers and school heads, NISHTHA Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and NISHTHA Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Courses are being rerun by NCERT on DIKSHA platform for the academic year 2024-25,” it reads.
In this context, JKSCERT requested the DIETs to disseminate the information in your respective districts among all the stakeholders that includes teachers and school heads who were unable to join or complete the courses in the academic year 2023-24 to enrol and complete these courses within stipulated time for their continuous professional development—(KNO)
